The Sit In

Through The Window

Through the window

The sun shines with the morning glow,

Houses line the street

And birds perch atop chimneys.

Through the window

The ground is wet with dew,

Trees are bare and cold

But will blossom in the spring.

Through the window

I see cars whizzing by

People and dogs too.

Life in all its glory.

Through the window

The sky changes constantly,

A curious pattern of swirls and colours

That sustain the human imagination.

Through the window

The outside world waits

Calling me, teasing me, pulling me,

To go beyond the frame.

But I can only look through the window.
