Statement for The Writing Hub

Book Bound Copywriting is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Measures to support accessibility

Book Bound Copywriting takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of The Writing Hub:

• Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
• Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.
• Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
• Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Writing Hub is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some level AAA Success Criteria: Images of text are only used for decorative purposes. Re-authentication after a session expires does not cause loss of data. Some videos have subtitle and/or voice over interpretation and visitors are able to request downloaded content to be in another format.

Limitations and alternatives

1. Comments from users on the blog: Uploaded images may not have text alternatives because we cannot ensure the quality of contributions to our blog. We monitor and assess user comment and typically repair issues within 2-3 business working days. Please use the 'report a problem' button if you encounter an issue.
2. Pop-Up Content: Pop-Ups may include content that may not be compatible with screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology because we cannot ensure that all content, buttons, etc. will work properly with screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology. We are working hard to ensure that all pop-up content is accessible through screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology. Please use the 'report a problem' button if you encounter an issue.
3. Image and Video content: Images and videos may not accommodate the correct features that is required to be viewed with screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology because we cannot ensure that both images and videos uploaded to the site have the correct details for them to work with screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology. We are working hard to ensure that all images and videos are accessible with screen readers and/or other forms of assistive technology.
