Where Creativity Flows

Christopher Greene

About the Writer: Christopher Greene

"Stories and storytelling is one thing, imagination is another. With our minds we can go places; see things; touch and smell the world around us, and still find comfort in the story that is being told. Travel to sandy beaches and lush rainforests in Marooned, where secrets are hidden deep within the Earth, or go to a world where everything we know is on its head and survival is the only key to keep evil at bay."

Christopher is a young writer who started his career in writing only three or four years ago. His love for reading and acting got him to write plays and then onto other forms of writing, a small range that can be managed quite easily. With a few pieces of work already published with other writers, Christopher is hoping that his current projects will be a success too and will lead to more creative ideas.

His latest piece of published work was part of the 'After All' book, written by members of the Creative Writing Society at Canterbury Christ Church University. A larger project than anticipated, but the idea was that members would write a short story and these would then become tales that were told by a central character known as the The Weaver. The main concept of the book was that an apocalypse had happened and after all that had happened the Weaver would go from place to place telling these stories. While the short story did not need to incorporate a natural disaster or any of that kind, it did however, need to be written in third person and to have a moral or some sort of emotion that would benefit the reader or listener. It was a great challenge and a good book to read.

Christopher (Alex) did not always have the idea of being a writer as a career. For a while after finishing college in 2014 he tried starting up his own business which produced and sold board games that were accessible to disabled people. However, this venture did not work out and in 2016 decided to stop working on the project. He also did an apprenticeship in Business Admin for a year but decided to go to university once it had finished. After graduating from university he struggled to find work and though continuing to work on his many projects he decided to set up an online copywriting business as this would drive his passion for creative writing and advertising. Something that he hopes will be more successful than his previous business idea.
